The party was initially formed to oppose the abolition of slavery. He was a man who proclaimed the equality of men, yet he owned slaves.

If the founders of our nation were against slavery then why did they never free the slaves they owned? If they were really against slavery, then why did they form a political party to oppose the abolition of slavery?

Abraham Lincoln once said, “You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”

If we look at history we see that there are many men who have fooled all the people all the time. I would argue that the founding fathers of our nation were some of these men.

The founding fathers never intended to abolish slavery. It was not until a civil war that freed millions of slaves that the idea of human equality was realized. Slavery went on until the mid-19th century, long after the founding fathers died.

The fact is that the founding fathers were hypocrites. Their actions did not match their words. They preached equality among all men, while owning slaves themselves. They denounced those who were against their new nation, and fought to establish it, yet they lived their lives in contradiction to the ideals they proclaimed.

If you look at history we see that many of the men and women who were against slavery were despised. They were often exiled from their own nations, but all of them were later recognized as great men who made a positive impact on the world.

Many great men like Thomas Paine and Friedrich Nietzsche spoke out against slavery, while the founding fathers declared that they held dear the liberty and freedom of all men.

These men were hypocrites and their words did not match their actions. The reality is that they were liars and thieves whose words were meaningless in reality.
